Terms and conditions of the activity
- Meet at the chalet in Capbreton harbour (next to the Chez Minus restaurant) to get kitted out (all equipment is provided)
- You must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water
- Please bring: swimwear, a towel and sun cream
- Open to those aged 12 and over (parental consent required for unaccompanied minors)
How the activity works
1️⃣ Booking and welcome
- Meeting point: Capbreton Harbour (Quai AL, white and blue hut), with boarding from the school’s RIB.
- Equipment provided: wakeboard, wetsuit (full-length or shorty), lifejacket.
2️⃣ Introductory session
1. Safety briefing: instructions on hand signals (slow down/speed up), safe falls, and adjusting bindings.
2. Getting started: the boat tows at a gradually increasing speed (18–25 km/h depending on ability) to make the water start easier.
3. Posture:
- Position: knees bent, arms outstretched, weight distributed evenly between both feet.
- Managing the pull: learning to stay behind the boat without losing balance.
3️⃣ Safety and supervision
- Equipment: 8-metre semi-rigid boat with a 250 CV engine, fitted with emergency equipment.
- Supervision: a state-certified instructor on board to adjust the speed and offer advice.
