Discover the Poitevin Marsh, nicknamed Green Venice and straddling several French departments... a natural region if ever there was one! Here you’ll observe a huge biodiversity and admire some absolutely stunning scenery!

Explore the protected areas of the regional nature parks, such as Millevaches or Périgord-Limousin, both vast nature reserves. The famous Arcachon Bay, home to many a treasure and surrounded by the immense forest of Landes, is another must-see!

Go on an expedition to the region’s multiple islands, such as Ré and Oléron, climb the Pyrenean mountains, and appreciate the culture of the Basque Country. Not forgetting the views to be enjoyed from the top of the highest dune in Europe, the Dune of Pilat, one of France’s great listed sites.

Discover the Côte d’Argent, the coast stretching between the River Adour and the Gironde Estuary. This coast unfurls against the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean with its waves that roll in perfect tubes, especially in Landes. Also known as “Landifornia”, this is a hotspot for surfers and every other watersport involving a board. Perhaps the time has come for you to give it a try!

Walkers, hikers and mountain bikers will be able to take advantage of the beautiful terrain to be found in the Pyrenean mountains or the hills of Limousin. Look for the river or lake nearest to your campsite to go canoeing or paddleboarding, or even try canyoning. Remember also to stop at some of France’s most beautiful villages to taste the fabulous local specialities!
