- You must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water
- What to bring: swimming costume, towel, sun cream
How the activity works
1️⃣ Welcome and preparation
- Location: Capbreton Harbour (Quai AL), at the school’s white and blue hut, near the Chez Minus restaurant.
- Equipment provided: buoy (flyfish, canapé, toupie), lifejacket, wetsuit (shorty or full-length depending on the weather).
- Briefing: safety instructions and an explanation of the techniques by a state-certified instructor.
2️⃣ Session itinerary
1. Boarding: departure on an 8-metre RIB (250 CV) to reach the practice area out at sea.
2. Towing:
- Duration: 15-minute session for one lap around the buoy.
- Thrills: high-speed gliding (up to 50 km/h), tight turns and jumping over the waves.
3️⃣ Commitment to safety
- Supervision: an optimised guide-to-participant ratio to ensure personalised attention.
- Safe area: unobstructed stretch of water with no other boats in the vicinity.
Example itinerary:
“After a quick briefing, you clip onto the Flyfish buoy – an inflatable multi-seater craft – and off you go on some whiplash turns that send everyone flying into the water! The instructor adapts the intensity to suit the group’s preferences.”
