How the activity works
The SEA FISHING activity in Capbreton takes place as follows:
1️⃣ How the trip works
1. Boarding at Capbreton harbour (jetty B) for a 3-hour morning trip.
2. Two fishing techniques are used alternately depending on conditions:
- Light jigging to catch mackerel, horse mackerel, weever or bonito.
- Vertical jigging with natural bait, targeting groundfish (pout, sea bream, wrasse) and sparidae.
3. Possible seasonal variations: jigging for squid and cuttlefish, or trolling if bonito are present.
2️⃣ Equipment and guidance
- Equipment provided: rods, lures and bait included.
- Guidance from an experienced skipper who shares his knowledge of the Gouf de Capbreton and locates schools of fish using the boat’s electronic equipment.
- Ethical guidelines: responsible fishing, with catches strictly limited to fish intended for consumption.
3️⃣ Target audience and conditions
- Suitable for ages 8 and over; minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- People with reduced mobility are welcome (maximum 2 wheelchairs per trip).
