How the activity works
1️⃣ Welcome and preparation
- Location: Saint-Michel-Escalus (Landes), in a 30-hectare private forest set aside for quad biking.
- Equipment provided: 150cc or 300cc quad bike (automatic or semi-automatic depending on the model).
- Briefing: 30-minute introductory or refresher session with a state-qualified guide, including practical exercises and safety instructions.
2️⃣ How the ride works
1. Learning phase:
- Practical exercises on a secure circuit to master riding techniques (acceleration, braking, cornering).
- Assessment of participants’skill levels to tailor the route.
2. Guided ride:
- Duration: 1 hour of actual riding (after the briefing) along sandy forest tracks and through dune landscapes.
- Supervision: constant guidance from the guide, with educational stops to learn about the Landes ecosystem.
3️⃣ Practical information
- What to bring: suitable clothing (avoid loose-fitting garments), closed-toe shoes, gloves (recommended but not provided).
- On-site facilities: secure car park and rest areas.
4️⃣ Safety Commitment
- Strict protocols: safety distances between quad bikes; overtaking the guide is prohibited.
- Controlled environment: 100% off-road route within a fenced-off area, with no public traffic.
This activity combines the thrill of adventure with ecological discovery, making it ideal for exploring the Landes from a unique perspective.
